Today, February 12, in Cala Millor (Mallorca) a thunderous shout was heard. It’s the voice of the Balearic tourism sector claiming that we want to get back on track and receive all the tourists who come to our archipielago to enjoy all the pleasures and charms that these Mediterranean islands have to offer. We are recognized worldwide for the experience and hard work of our professionals.

As Balearic citizens we also want to enjoy them again, recovering daily habits and enjoy contact with our family, friends and social environment.

For this reason, we concentrate our efforts and we reach out to those who also ask that all necessary measures must be adopted to face this situation, fight against the virus and take advantage of vaccines as a key element to reach a faster recovery. Vaccines have become a turning point in the pandemic and the rate of inoculation must be substantially increased to immunize citizens.

We also need a vaccine that protects our tourism companies from bankruptcy and it’s completely necessary to have a rescue plan for the sector from the entire public administration. Health security and the protection of the business and society are inextricably linked with one another.

The reading of the SOS TOURISM manifesto has given voice to all those employees and business owners who are, directly or indirectly, linked to tourism. This industry needs the leaders to act in order to revive it. The Balearic society, has been complying with the rules and regulation with an enormous responsibility but this is not enough.

SOS TOURISM is a transversal movement, respectful with the global health situation and this is why it is made visible with a communication campaign based on two main premises: health and economy.

We hope that this movement is an unstoppable wave of visible demands that begins today and that will end when we have really achieved our goals: to become a safe destination once again with a diverse and quality tourist offer, which makes the dreams and desires of all those who come to Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera to live their best experiences, become true.

To achieve this, we are working together and we want to make ourselves heard and participate in a new governance that guides resources and efforts into the right direction.

To achieve this, we are working together and we want to make ourselves heard and participate in a new governance that guides resources and efforts into the right direction.

We all hope that our claim changes soon to WELCOME TOURISM instead of SOS TURISMO
